Leaking underground storage tanks (USTs) are a significant source of environmental contamination and may pose the following threats to human health and safety: fire and explosion, inhalation of dangerous vapors, contamination of soil and groundwater, contamination of drinking water, and contamination of streams, rivers, and lakes. An UST includes the tank, all piping and any part of an UST system that contains a regulated substance. By definition, any system having ten percent or more of the total tank volume below ground is considered to be an UST. Prime vendor must be pre-qualified on the Illinois Department of Transportation's Engineering, Architectural & Professional Services list. Pre-qualification must be in the Hazardous Waste: Advanced category. Vendor should submit via BidBuy and check the "No Charge" box on the quote. Per the Qualifications Based Selection procedures, pricing will be negotiated with the top ranking vendor.
