DuPage County (“County”) Sheriff’s Office is seeking bids to furnish and deliver catered packaged meals for senior residents of the County. Meals shall be fully cooked and frozen allowing residents to heat as needed. The County is committed to providing healthy, nutritious meals to its senior residents. Bidder shall provide boxed catered packaged meals for senior residents. Boxes shall be packed individually and contain five (5) fully cooked and frozen meals allowing residents to heat as needed. In addition, boxes shall contain a bag with shelf stable fruit cup, crackers, and beverage such as water and/or juice for each meal. Meals shall be designed to be heart healthy and controlled to be lower in sodium and fat. Reheating instructions shall be provided with each box. The County requires the awarded bidder to provide approximately 250 – 300 meals once a month on a Saturday for a one (1) year period. Catered packaged meal boxes shall be dropped off fully frozen the day of delivery no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and no later than 9:00 a.m. at a designated location. Bidder shall provide means to maintain food at the required temperature during delivery and the approximate 2 hour distribution time period. Awarded bidder shall provide a variety of entrées to include but not limited to beef, poultry, pork, vegetarian, starch, and vegetable.
