Specifications include, but are not limited to: The goal of this procurement is to replace the current process of monitoring for compliance with Illinois Mandatory Insurance laws with a more thorough and updated process. Currently Illinois selects a small random sample of eligible registered vehicles each month and sends a mailing to the vehicle owners selected, requiring the owners to provide insurance information valid on the date of selection. That information is then verified with the insurance company. The Secretary of State (SOS) is seeking a process that verifies all of the approximately 9 million registered vehicles falling under Section 7-601 of the Illinois Vehicle Code a minimum of twice a year on a random basis. The process shall operate behind the scenes independent of the vehicle registration process. The SOS is looking for the majority of this verification process to be done by a third party vendor.
