Specifications include, but are not limited to: LAWN CARE Turf shall be cut to a height of two to three inches as conditions dictate. Mowing shall be done frequently enough so that no more than one-third of the grass blade is removed per cutting. Mowing equipment and patterns shall be employed to permit recycling of clippings where possible and present a neat appearance. Excess clippings shall be removed and blades on all equipment shall be sharp to prevent tearing of the grass blades. Any trash and/or limbs shall be picked up and removed prior to mowing. Turf in the front of the building shall be sprayed to control broad leaf weeds. The grounds shall be mulched, raked, or vacuum cleaned of leaves and clippings once each month during the months of October and November. The contractor shall provide for the disposal of leaves away from the building. At the request of the Building Manager any dead or unwanted plants and shrubs shall be removed. Turf adjacent to walks and curbs shall be edged as needed through the season. All cut grass shall be blown and/or swept from the sidewalks, driveways, curbs, patios, etc. In the event there is damage by reason of the mowing, the contractor will be required to repair and/or replace same at contractor's own expense with like kind and as directed by the CMS facility manager or his/her designee. SHRUB, EVERGREEN AND GROUND COVER BEDS All beds shall be kept in a neat and weed free manner through an integrated pest management program to include cultivation, hand weeding, and the use of herbicides. All shrubs and evergreens shall be pruned two times per season to remove dead or damaged branches and to develop the natural form of the plant.
