Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1 DISPOSAL OF INFECTIOUS WASTE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL LABOR - SCAVENGER SERVICE AS SPECIFIED. The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) provides various clinical services which include immunizations, testing and treating of sexually transmitted infections (STI), HIV primary care services, Mental Health Services, and other health related services. To provide these services specimens, such as blood and other bodily fluids, on-site laboratory process specimens are collected, and injectable medication is provided to patients at time of visit. CDPH is in need of a contractor which will provide the removal and disposal of Potentially Infectious Medical Waste (PIMW) from the sites, and provide the packaging supplies such as large biohazard cardboard boxes, red biohazard bag liners, and 2 inch wide tape necessary for the collection, packaging, and removal of the hazardous material from CDPH sites to maintain a safe and healthy environment for staff and patients. The City of Chicago is responsible for keeping the public areas of the City safe and free of any waste that may potentially harm its residents. The contractor will be required to routinely clean up and remove any PIMW that has been discarded on City property.
