The Friable and Non-Friable Asbestos must be removed prior to proceeding with demolition of the structure by a Licensed Asbestos Contractor. Prior to demolition of the structure it is imperative that the Licensed Asbestos Contractor provide to the City a copy of the courtesy notice to IEPA and a copy of the waste manifest showing that the Abestos Contained Material was disposed of at a licensed land fill. The Building Inspection for Asbestos Contained Material report is attached as Appendix A. C. Demolition Activities 1. Remove and properly dispose of the existing building(s), (house, shed, concrete pads, concrete retaining walls, walk ways, septic tank, or cistern, the driveway, any fencing material on the property. (see addition below) Remove all junk, debris, trash, concrete, shrubs, bushes, and all trees located on the property with entire stump removal below grade, and landscape timbers/bricks/railroad ties. City sidewalk and driveway approach to remain. In addition; Remove fencing on the north, south, west and east side of the house. 2. Recycle any non-compactable material such as concrete or bricks. 3. Clear lots of all improvements and debris to include removal of all: foundation material, basement walls, crawl space walls, concrete slabs, footings, cisterns, porch steps, storm shelter, wood deck, trees,entire tree stumps below grade, bushes, shrubs, garbage, refuse, and debris. 4. THOROUGHLY MIST OR FOG ALL MATERIALS TO KEEP ADEQUATELY WET DURING DEMOLITION, LOADING AND HAULING. If temperature is below 32 degrees misting is not required. (Document temperature) 5. Backfill all excavated areas with approved clean clay soil and compact in 12-inch lifts all below grade excavations in an approved method. Preparation, backfilling, and compaction shall be in accordance with Technical Specifications. Provide clean black topsoil on top six inches (6") of all disturbed and excavated areas. Finish grade to match surrounding soil levels, prevent standing water, excessive soil saturation or erosion, with uniform slopes to provide adequate site drainage. 6. Sanitary Service and other utilities shall be permanently disconnected and capped if applicable. Contact the Engineering Division of the City of Champaign, Public Works Department for instruction on sanitary sewer disconnection. 7.
