Specifications include, but are not limited to:. This project will install a Heat Recovery Chiller System in the basement of Roger Adams Lab South (RAL South). Modification to the heating systems in RAL South and Chemical and Life Sciences Laboratory (CLSL) is required to integrate the heat recovery system. The heat recovery system, including the heat recovery chiller (HRC), the chilled water pump, the primary hot water pump, and the distribution hot water pump, will be located in the basement mechanical room of RAL South, with the TES tanks standing on grade in the courtyard between RAL South and CLSL Building A. Additionally, there will be an alternate for RAL South to have a preheat water-to-water heat exchanger to allow the HRC system to serve the existing glycol preheat system for the basement air handlers. The reheat systems in both RAL North and CLSL A, B, & C will be modified with building decouplers/temperature control valves where the heat recovery hot water system connects to the existing building hot water systems. Only one (1) heat recovery chiller will be installed at this time. However, the remainder of the system will be designed such that a second HRC and the associated primary pumps can be installed in a plug-and-play manner under a future project with minimal disruption to the existing building and its systems. The existing MCC will remain in place. A new MCC will be installed to serve the new equipment and will be sized to handle the remaining loads on the existing MCC to remain, such that these loads can be transferred to the new MCC in the future
