Specifications include, but are not limited to: The proposed work for this section of I-55 consists of milling off all the existing HMA on mainline I-55 and the interchange ramps at IL 108, and resurfacing with overlay. The shoulders will be milled as necessary. The existing guardrail terminal end sections located on I-55 as well as those located on the overhead structures will be replaced as necessary to meet current standards. Deficient lengths of guardrail will be lengthened to meet current policy. Guardrail that is not warranted will be removed, while damaged guardrail will be removed and replaced. Guardrail markers and terminal markers will be installed. Guard posts will be added at median ditch check locations where deemed necessary
