The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, materials, equipment, and coordination necessary to complete the following tasks: A. Invasive Species Removal • Removal of invasive woody species (trees, shrubs, and vines) within the project area. • Methods may include mechanical removal, cut-stump treatment, and/or other industry-accepted best practices. • Proper disposal of all removed invasive material. • All herbicide application shall be performed by applicators properly licensed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. B. Site Preparation • Preparation of disturbed areas for replanting, including grading as needed. • Protection of adjacent infrastructure, utilities, sidewalks, and roadway. C. Native Plant Installation • Furnish and install native Illinois species only. • Anticipated quantities (final quantities may vary slightly based on site conditions): o Approximately 20 native trees (minimum 2.5-inch caliper) o Approximately 40 native shrubs o Native seed mix and/or ground cover planting for understory restoration Important: • Proposers shall provide a unit price list for trees, shrubs, seed/ground cover, and installation. • Proposers may recommend specific native species suited to the site; however, final species selection will be subject to Village approval. • All plant material must be sourced from Illinois-licensed nurseries. D. Mulching and Protection • Install mulch rings around trees and shrubs. • Include tree protection measures as appropriate (guards, cages, staking if necessary). E. Establishment & Maintenance • Provide three (3) years of ecological maintenance, including but not limited to: o Invasive species management o Weeding and site stabilization o Replacement of dead plant material (minimum one-year warranty on plant survival) o General monitoring and corrective actions to ensure successful establishment
