The work includes the wash bay replacement and all associated work at the Transportation Building, located at 500 Shales Parkway, Elgin, Illinois 60120. BONDS REQUIRED: A Performance Bond and Material & Labor Payment Bond will be required from the General Contractor for 100% of the contract sum, payable to the Owner. PREQUALIFICATION PROCEDURE: All interested bidders are required to complete an AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualification Statement and submit them with all bidding documents at the time of bid. MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at the Transportation Building, 500 Shales Parkway, Elgin, Illinois. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in and receive visitor's badge. Attendance at the meeting is limited to a maximum of 3 team members per Bidding Contractor, due to space limitations in conference room. BIDS: All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the base bid(s), and all alternates and allowances, or cashiers check made payable to School District U-46. All bid documents must be submitted as one (1) original and two (2) copies. BID GUARANTEE: Contractors shall guarantee their submitted Bid Proposal for a ninety (90) day period from the date of Bid Opening. PREVAILING WAGE LAW: This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. DUE DATE: Bids will be due on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. local time at the Educational Services Center, Business Services Department in Room 119, 355 E.
