Specifications include, but are not limited to: Chicago State University is seeking proposals from qualified firms to prepare a "Market Validation and FinancialFeasibility Study" for a new campus location. The proposed campus location is in the "west side" area ofChicago. This Request for Proposals (RFP) describes the study background, proposed scope of services,schedule, and submission requirements. Proposals should also be appropriate in the context of a rapidly changinghigher education environment with limited resources, and in consonance with the mission and values of theinstitution. Proposers should have strong capabilities in feasibility analysis and planning for in publiccomprehensive institutions.Chicago State University opened its doors as a teacher training school in a leaky railroad freight car in BlueIsland, Illinois on September 2, 1867. Today, in contrast, the University is a fully accredited public, urbaninstitution located on 161-picturesque acres in a residential community on the Southside of Chicago. Duringthe first year of its founding, CSU enrolled 62 students. The current student enrollment is nearly 6,100. Thepath from then until now has been marked by change. During more than 140 years, CSU has changed its name,focus, governance and location.
