Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide on-call security related services including, but not limited to, the following: A. Special Events Security Up to one hundred fifty (150) certified peace (police) officers and retired police officers per day to provide protection of Metra commuters, employees and property during scheduled and unscheduled special events, concerts and public demonstrations conducted throughout Metra’s service area. See Attachment 1 for Special Event Manpower Requirement of currently planned special events. Unscheduled special events and circumstances requiring significant numbers of police officers may occur at any time throughout the year. B. Natural Disasters and Strikes Up to one hundred (100) certified peace (police) officers per day to augment the Metra Police Department in providing protection of Metra commuters, employees and property during periods of natural disaster and strikes. C. Homeland Security Up to one hundred (100) certified peace (police) officers per day to be deployed by Metra’s Chief of Police. At a time during the term of this contract, the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration may a) raise terrorist threat levels, or b) advise of particular concerns surrounding terrorist activity directed at rail systems in the United States and/or provide intelligence regarding potential homeland security threats. D. Metra Properties and Construction Sites Up to fifty (50) certified peace (police) officer(s) per day to provide protection on Metra owned properties, vehicles and equipment used on Metra’s construction projects.
