The District seeks to acquire the services of a state legislative consultant or consultants to work with the District’s state legislative liaison. Therefore, the District is requesting detailed proposals for professional legislative consulting services. The legislative consultant(s) will be expected to perform the following on an as needed basis during the legislative session. • Interact with the members of the Illinois General Assembly and staff and relevant House and Senate Committee Members and staff. • Contact members of the Illinois General Assembly (“ILGA”) and relevant ILGA House and Senate Committee Members upon direction from the District’s legislative liaison. • Perform tasks initiated by the District’s legislative liaison in support of the District’s legislative program. • Experience working with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), and other state agencies that adopt regulations and policy affecting District operations, is desirable. • Provide weekly updates to the District’s legislative liaison and Executive Director on activities, for the weeks that the ILGA is in session and on an as-needed basis when the ILGA is not in session.
