THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This is a notice of intent to award a contract as a sole source to: HITEC Group International, Inc. dba HITEC for HITEC Nextalk-Textnet Services. TEXTNET/NEXTALK is a trademarked product solely owned and marketed by HITEC Group International, Inc. TEXTNET/NEXTALK services may only be purchased and provided through HITEC Group International, Inc. If we cannot continue to purchase Nextalk/Textnet licenses and maintenance through the only Illinois reseller, HITEC, it would cause the State to be unable to provide effective communication services to people with disabilities, making us non-compliant with the American Disabilities Act. This would not only have a detrimental effect on the millions of Illinois residents who depend on these services, but it would also cause great risk of liability.
