Winnebago County Health Department is officially recognized and certified by IDPH to perform health inspections in the state of Illinois. Not replicable by Private Entities or Non-Health Agencies. Winnebago County Health Department serves as the Lead Health Department (LHD) responsible for coordinating inspections in regional counties, making it uniquely equipped to provide consistent, centralized service across a broad geographic area. Coverage includes inspection responsibilities for regional counties, eliminating the need to manage separate agreements with each individual health department. Reduces administrative burden, enhances communication, and provides continuity of practice across all counties.
