Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project will involve several trades and permits. Exterior portion will begin with chimney removal below the roof line and mechanical metal liner flu will need to be ran. This liner must be a sealed connection to the appliances venting in the basement. Through the roof penetration will have a solid metal galvanized flu extending to ICM 2015 requirements. Install new flashing boot, storm collar trim and weather cap. Minor framing will be required to cover the hole where the chimney once stood. Install approved sheathing flushing with the surrounding sheathing. Remove all existing shingles and water barriers down the original sheathing. Inspect for any wood rot of large gaps that may need addressed before applying the new roof. Install ice and snow guard around the lower portion of the roof line cover at least 3’ above the exterior plate line. Install Ice and snow in all the valleys. Install an approved water barrier through out the remaining roof. Install new 2” style D roof edge in white. Install 30-yr architectural shingles per homeowner’s color choice selected for a limited color samples the contractor provides. Patch any old turtle vent holes from the existing roof. Install new shingle over ridge vent. Use cap matching the shingle color. Follow manufactures instructions on the installation for the required ridge cut back remove the maximum amount of sheathing to reach highest level of ventilation. Install new boot flashing for all roof penetrations. Install tail pipes on all the downspouts using hinged fixtures. Clean out all the roof debris out of all the gutters after roof completion.
