The goal of this contract is to ensure the continuous, accurate operation of Roadway Weather Information System (RWIS) equipment and sensors to support effective winter maintenance operations and enhance roadway safety during inclement weather. The purpose of this contract is to acquire routine maintenance and repair services for RWIS equipment and sensors, which supply critical weather data used by forecast vendors. This data enables timely and informed decisions regarding the deployment of anti-icing treatments and maintenance personnel, ultimately improving winter response efforts, optimizing resource allocation, and promoting the safety of both the traveling public and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) maintenance staff.
