Specifications include, but are not limited to: Special care must be used when clearing trees with the designated wetland areas, and within a 50- foot buffer of a designated wetland area. Work within these areas will be conducted in a manner that causes the least amount of disturbance to the wetlands. Each tree in these areas shall be required to be removed without the use of mechanical equipment. The felled tree shall then be removed from the wetland and disposed of off Airport property at the Contractor’s expense. If a disturbance is caused, the Contractor shall place a mix of IDOT class 4B and class 4C seed within the limits of the disturbed area. Stumps shall be left in place and treated to prevent future growth to the satisfaction of the Resident Engineer.; The following exception will take place to these areas during the winter months and as approved by the Resident Engineer and the Airport. If construction occurs within the winter months and the ground is frozen, no 50-foot buffer fence will be required, and the Contractor can use mechanized equipment. Grubbing would still be prohibited.; Subgrade and topsoil materials required to fill holes and level areas at the completion of clearing and grubbing shall be provided by the Contractor at no additional cost to the contract. These materials shall be compacted in a manner acceptable to the Resident Engineer.; Limits of clearing (no grubbing) shall be as noted in the plans in areas located within a delineated wetland or within a 50-foot buffer of a delineated wetland. Work beyond these areas noted in the plans shall require clearing and grubbing. Quantities of clearing, and/or cleared and grubbed, shall be measured for payment by the number of acres or fractions thereof, of land specifically cleared by the Contractor as specified, including all tree clearing and removal, completed, and accepted by the Resident Engineer.
