On-site investigations of deficiencies, malfunctions, and failures in: Potable Water and wastewater treatment systems, HVAC systems, Swimming pool equipment and systems, Plumbing systems, Fire alarm and fire suppression systems, Architectural assessments involving doors, roofs, windows, siding, foundations, etc., Electrical systems associated with buildings, campgrounds, and other site facilities, Structural deficiencies of buildings, including foundation and subsidence issues, Structural deficiencies and erosion problems of real property improvements such as: dams, bridges, levees, stairways, embankments, etc., Civil engineering tasks including roadways and road base, boat ramps, boat docks, trails, water control structures, etc., Hazardous material releases. 2) Bridge and dam safety inspections, 3) Surveying, 4) Environmental Investigations (wetland delineations, ordinary high-water delineation), 5) Geotechnical investigations including soil borings and soil testing (physical and chemical properties), 6) Hazardous material inspections, sampling and testing (asbestos, lead paint, mold, etc.) 7) Electrical evaluations and design, 8) Budget surveys and project cost estimates, 9) Fire damage assessments, 10) Develop Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, 11) Prepare permit applications for a variety of regulatory agencies including COE, IEPA, IDNR/OWR, IDPH, etc., 12) Assist IDNR staff by updating standard design guides and design manuals, 13) Develop simple/basic bid documents for small maintenance and repair projects (construction cost is typically <$350,000), including plan sheets, notes and/or specifications. Bid documents do not have to follow CDB or IDOT format but they must provide enough information to secure competitive bids.
