The restroom shall be a single user type, and be a minimum of 50 s.f. The restroom shall meet 2018 IBC, 2017 NEC, Illinois Plumbing Code Part 890, and ADAAG. Local design criteria used shall be: Snow load: 20 lbs per sq. ft. Wind speed: 90 mph Seismic design: Category A Soil load-bearing pressure: 1,500 lbs per sq. ft. Concrete weathering: Severe Successful Bidder shall provide Illinois structural engineer stamped drawings detailing restroom and footings that can be used for bidding the installation portion of the project. For “Or Equal” bids, vendor shall supply plans, details, specifications, and contact information for 5 successful installations of the proposed product for Owner’s review. A record of successful in-service use in at least 5 locations is considered a part of these specifications. Installation is Not In Contract. Design: The restroom shall be designed to prevent crime by using elements of the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design philosophy, be vandal resistant, be easy to clean and maintain, use “off the shelf” fixtures that are easily replaceable, be compact, be energy and water efficient, and use long-lasting materials. The restroom shall be designed so that the number of occupants inside the restroom can be determined from the outside, but with a minimum reduction in privacy. The restroom will be winterized each year, so no provisions are needed for winter operation.
