A. Software Procedure: • List the operating system and any other software required to operate the system. • State whether the system provides an administrative user. • State the total number of concurrent users permitted to access the web browser. B. Mapping: • What mapping technology is used for vehicle tracking? • State any scale limitations and AVL/GPS unit accuracy. • Data exported from system must be ESRI-compatible , including compatibility with ArcGIS GeoEvent Server and ArcGIS Velocity. • System must allow the City of Champaign GIS asset layers to display on the system map. C. Operational Requirements: • The hardware unit must be capable of storing collected data when the unit is outside of communication coverage. • The system should have the capability of updating the in-field hardware remotely by the use of over-the-air programming. • The unit must be tamper resistant and be able to detect tampering. • AVL/GPS units must be mounted on the vehicles where they are not easily removed or damaged; units should be tamper proof. • The unit should be able to set work times so the unit will function in on or off power selection. • Portable units must have the ability to be plugged into vehicle power outlets (power outlet adapters). • The software will include periodic updates (remotely, if required) to maintain functionality.
