2.0 Required Diesel Fuel Product Deliveries of diesel fuel must be ULSDF No. 2. 2.1 ULSDF No. 2 with Winter Additive ULSDF No. 2 with winter additive for Northeast Illinois region must be provided from October 1 through February 28 to ensure starting ability and performance of vehicles to temperatures reaching down to at least -40°F. 2.2 Composition The base diesel fuel (ULSDF No. 2 without winter additive) must meet the current edition of ASTM D975, Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils. The diesel fuel must be refined petroleum distillates. The diesel fuel must have sulfur content equal to or less than the current requirements of 15 PPM for ULSDF. 2.3 Other Additives Additives other than the winter additive will require prior written approval by Pace. 2.4 Other Physical and Chemical Requirements The diesel fuel must conform to the requirements specified in Table 1 below. The diesel fuel must be clear and bright at the ambient temperature at the time of delivery or 70F (21C), whichever is higher.
