1. Stewardship Visits – During the growing season, (defined as April through November), complete monthly stewardship visits for the following months which include control of invasive and non-native vegetation with appropriate methods (pulling, mowing, herbicide etc.), taking care not to damage native vegetation as much as possible. Visits should take place in the specified months of each year: • Year 1 visits will be from July 2025 through November 2025 • Year 2 visits will be from July 2026 through November 2026 • Year 3 visits will be from July 2027 through November 2027 – if renewed • Year 4 visits will be from July 2028 through November 2028 – if renewed • Year 5 visits will be from July 2029 through November 2029 – if renewed 2. Monitoring – During the growing season, provide 2 monitoring visits to assess floristic quality. • Deliverables - One report performed earlier in the growing season (May - June) and one later in the growing season (August - September). A full monitoring report should be provided to the college after each assessment survey. • Please note for Year 1, there is only 1 visit and 1 report due to the contract starting in July. 3. Prescribed Burns – In year/s 1 (and 3 & 5, if renewed) of the contract, perform a burn of the prairie. All permitting and notifications are the responsibility of the management company. Decisions on timing of prescribed burns and percentage of area burned should be made in consultation with the College. 4. Maintaining a walking path through the prairie with a hand mower to allow educational access to the prairie, from the months of May through October. The vendor is expected to come onsite for this maintenance at least ONCE per month or at minimum six times throughout the months of May through October. Decisions on timing should be made in consultation with the College.
