The Village of Cary is seeking a qualified contractor to procure and plant replacement parkway trees throughout the Village. Ginko (MALE) 2 - 2.5” 10 American Linden 2 - 2.5” 10 Accolade Elm 2 - 2.5” 10 Lacebark Elm 2 - 2.5” 10 Triumph Elm 2 - 2.5” 10 Princeton Elm 2 - 2.5” 10 Hackberry 2 - 2.5” 10. PLANTING OPERATIONS 1. Trees must be protected from excessive vibrations. Trees shall not be thrown or bounced off a truck or loader to the ground. Trees shall not be dragged, lifted, or pulled by the trunk or foliage parts in a manner that will loosen the roots in the ball. 2. Trees shall be set with the top of the root collar at or slightly above finished grade. Trees must be centered in the hole and set plumb. Trees shall be set so that they will be at the same depth 1 year after planting. 3. If roots are crowded or coiled on the bottom, sides, or surface of the root ball, they shall be gently separated from the edges or surface. 4. For all trees moved with a tree spade, all holes and cavities between the ball and the surrounding soil shall be filled. Glazed planting hole surfaces shall be sufficiently roughened prior to backfilling. 5. Removal of ropes, strings, wire baskets, burlap, and other wrappings from B&B plants.
