Specifications include, but are not limited to:Article 3 - Detailed Specifications for Sanitary Sewer Park Er Woods Groundwater Flow Pipe Capital Project No. 1576 1 General This article contains detailed specifications relating to proposal items. The work to be done under each item is discussed along with the units and measurement for payment. Proposal items are not necessarily all described herein, nor do the descriptions given necessarily outline all the work to be done under any item. All pipe, fittings, and pipe installation shall conform to the following specifications: Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Main Construction in Illinois, 7th Edition 2014, Division IV, Sections 41–2.01 A through C, Protection of Water Mains, and Rock River Water Reclamation District General Provisions and Technical Specifications for Sanitary Sewer Construction, revised October 24, 1983. In the case of apparent contradictions between the Detailed Specifications and the Technical Specifications, these Detailed Specifications shall govern. The Contractor shall transport all waste material, pipe, pavement, sewer and debris, etc. removed during construction to an approved dumping area. The Contractor shall pay all tipping fees. When the work is halted due to rain, the Contractor shall clean up the working areas before leaving the site and ensure that proper surface drainage is provided. The Contractor shall notify all utilities forty-eight (48) hours prior to beginning any work by contacting J.U.L.I.E. at 1-800-894-0123, and all other utilities not on the J.U.L.I.E. network. All underground utilities shall be located in the field by the utility or duly authorized representative. The Contractor shall exercise special care when excavating near underground utilities to avoid damage. Any damage done to utilities shall be repaired or replaced at the Contractor’s sole expense. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for the protection, restraint and support of all utilities, as well as the protection of private water wells. The Contractor shall notify all affected residents and any other parties of the impending work 48 hours minimum prior to construction. The Contractor shall also notify the District twenty-four (24) hours prior to working on a weekend or a workable District holiday. The Contractor will not be permitted to work on the following District holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. The Contractor shall contact the Rock River Water Reclamation District (District) Engineering Manager prior to bidding, ordering or installing any materials proposed for use in the construction of the sanitary sewer, services, manholes, bedding, and/or road restoration as to type, style or grade of materials to be used. This project is located in the public right-of-way of Lakewood Drive, Rockford Township, Winnebago, Illinois. Not be used for bidding purposes!
