By investing in these courses, we will be better prepared to protect our critical information and technology assets, proactively defend against cyber threats, and comply with industry standards. I recommend approving the acquisition of these training courses to support the Office of the Illinois Attorney General cybersecurity goals and ensure the continuous professional development of our personnel. SANS training and GIAC certification are sole source products, manufactured, sold, and distributed exclusively by The Escal Institute of Advanced Technologies, Inc. (dba SANS Institute, hereafter known as SANS). No other company makes a similar or competing product. Additionally, competition is precluded from producing or reselling SANS products and services. SANS has the exclusive and copyright protection to produce, sell, and deliver SANS products and services. Only SANS can offer the official SANS Curriculum and SANS Certified Instructors to deliver training on any SANS class, including all Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) prep courses.
