The purpose of this project is to evaluate the condition of 29 active sewer outfalls in the North Shore Channel, to create a report detailing the findings, and to provide preliminary design for the rehabilitation of a minimum of three and up to six outfalls. See Table 1 below for details on each outfall. The selected consultant shall inspect each of the 29 outfalls and evaluate their condition. The evaluation shall include the following: • the structural condition of the outfall structure • the portion of the upstream sewer that is visible from the outfall, including the joint connection of the upstream sewer to the outfall • the surrounding embankment that impacts the structural integrity of the outfall • the ability to restrict public access of the outfall and site security; While inspecting the outfalls, the consultant shall make note of the characteristics of the outfall per (but not limited to) the following: • material of outfall and upstream pipe • type of backflow prevention if any • whether the outfall is submerged, partially submerged, or above the water line at the time of inspection • types of erosion control measures in place, such as stone riprap or concrete splash pad • graffiti, litter, or other signs of use by the public...
