Specifications include, but are not limited to: Parking lots and roads must be fully cleared and salted by 7:00 a.m. for the start of classes and after each snow or ice event. The college also has additional events throughout the contracted period that will require snow and ice removal services to occur, and the contractor will be informed of these events in advance to ensure the campus is clear and safe for travel. Follow-up visits will be required to keep the parking lots clear if snow continues to fall throughout the day and night. In the event where snow falls or continues to fall throughout the day, the contractor must be available to clear and salt roads and driving lane and entryways as needed and or requested. The drive lanes are defined as areas that are not designated for parking/ non-stripped areas in parking lots. Inspections and Morning salting after day thaw and overnight freezing will be required. After the snow and ice event has ended it may be required for the contractor to return to the campus the following morning to clear remaining snow from where cars were parked during the evening classes before 7:00 a.m.. Contractor to meet with Facilities Management Staff in early November to stake sites for snow stockpiling. Sidewalk approaches must not be blocked by snow stockpiles. Snow removal is to be done in a manner that clears all paved surfaces from curb-to-curb abutting sidewalks and sidewalk openings. Snow stock must be pushed off the parking lot as accumulated as to minimize the loss of parking spaces. Stop signs and line-of-sight areas must be kept clear at intersections and entrances to parking lots.
