Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project will include a study of the retail, housing, and service needs of the neighborhood; and a plan to establish new, and enhance existing businesses, marketed to local residents and visitors to create a vibrant corridor linking Kean University to the neighborhood and the City of Elizabeth. The study will include: financial feasibility and marketability analysis; project planning; a “New Market “ study of Morris Avenue, focusing on recent demographic changes; a Revitalization Plan for the creation of local retail and commercial outlets unique to the diverse community, and which shall serve to attract students, faculty and staff from Kean University; and participation at public meetings to solicit community input.
