The Vendor shall operate a concession with a bait shop and boat rental located at Johnson Sauk Trail State Recreation Area in Kewanee, Illinois. Through IDNR programs and in conjunction with the Vendor, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources seeks to improve overall visitor satisfaction by ensuring high quality visitor services while broadening the economic base of the region and the communities of the surrounding parks. SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES REQUIRED: Vendor shall be required to have the concession and the restroom on the lower level open to the public for the purpose of serving guests in the concession building as per the hours/dates listed in Section 1.4.1. The Vendor must offer to rent to the public by the beginning of the 2nd year of the contract (2026) at minimum: (2) kayaks, (2) paddle boats and (1) Jon boat. All remaining years of the contract, the concession must offer to rent to the public at minimum: (5) kayaks, (3) paddle boats and (2) Jon boats. The Vendor must also sell night crawlers, fishing bobbers & hooks. AUTHORIZED SUPPLIES AND/OR SERVICES: The Vendor at Johnson Sauk Trail State Recreation Area will be authorized to sell boating equipment, bait, state hunting and fishing stamps, marine, fishing, picnic and camping supplies, ice fishing supplies, Illinois Native Firewood, and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, the concession is authorized to rent electric powered boats (gas powered not allowed), canoes, paddle boats, kayaks, bicycles and fishing supplies.
