The AMD expansion will be designed per NIH and the University Facilities and Services Standards. Interior finishes will include seamless epoxy flooring, epoxy-painted walls, and acoustical ceiling panels, with staggered stud wall construction to optimize sound isolation and future adaptability. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will be extended and rebalanced to support the new addition, with dedicated chilled water, compressed air, vacuum, and lab gas utilities routed from the existing infrastructure. The HVAC system will maintain precise environmental conditions, including vibration and noise control, to support sensitive equipment. Electrical systems will include new distribution panels, LED lighting, and UPS units to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Fire protection, security, and ADAcompliant design features will be integrated throughout the facility, ensuring safety, accessibility, and operational continuity.
