Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Bloomington needs to demolish a building at the Highland Golf Course located at 1613 S Main Street, Bloomington, IL, 61701. An asbestos inspection was completed by Ideal Environmental Engineering on 9/7/2023 and asbestos was identified in the building. 1. Contractor must obtain a demolition permit through the City of Bloomington a. https://www.bloomingtonil.gov/departments/economic-communitydevelopment/building-safety/permits-fees 2. Construction fence shall be placed around the job site securing the entire project. 3. Water hookup will be provided for dust control methods. 4. Contractor is responsible for all demolition and clean up and will need to provide their own dumpsters or other equipment as needed. 5. For all services included in the specifications, contractor will be 100% responsible for compliance with all relevant codes including the American Disabilities Act (ADA). 6. The building has been inspected for lead and asbestos. All lead and asbestos will be remediated by March 31, 2024. 7. There is contaminated soil on under the slab and to the south of the building from an underground fuel tank that has been removed. The city is currently working with the IEPA to complete soil testing and remediation. 8. Please refer to map in the attachment for building location. 9. The concrete slab and footings will be left undisturbed. Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will need to test the ground and provide specifics on how wide of an area will need to have the soil remediated. The City will then put Phase II out for bid to demolish the concrete slab and remediate the soil.
