Specifications include, but are not limited to: Every Student Succeeds Act (“ESSA”) Title 1 – Part A Program Services for Private School Students to the Board. The Board is seeking qualified firms to provide services under the Every Student Succeeds Act (“ESSA”) Title I-Part A: Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agency to eligible students who live in a Chicago Public School Title I attendance area and attend private schools. As the local educational agency, the Board is required under Title I of the Every Student Succeeds Act as set forth in 20 U.S.C. §6320 to provide students eligible for Title I ESSA services who attend private schools with equitable, secular, neutral and non-ideological educational services and/or benefits. The specific services to be provided are identified after meaningful and timely consultation with appropriate private school officials. The Board may provide services through contracts under the control and supervision of the Board with public and private agencies, organizations and institutions which are unaffiliated with any private school or religious organization. As part of ESSA, students who attend private schools and live in a Title I attendance area are eligible to receive free math and reading academic support services. These services may be rendered by private providers, all of who must demonstrate the use of high quality programs that have been evidenced based proven to be effective as determined by ESSA Title I legislation. These supplemental services may include the following: Instructional Services; Academic Coaching; Professional Development; Parent Involvement and Fine Arts.
