The purpose of this project is to replace aging cast iron DWV piping throughout designated areas of the juvenile detention center to ensure optimal sanitation, reduce maintenance risks, and comply with updated plumbing codes. o Submit first name, last name, and date of birth for all contracted personnel requiring access, for completion of Criminal Background Checks through the McLean County Sheriff’s Department. o Remove all existing exposed and above-grade cast iron DWV (Drain, Waste, and Vent) piping throughout the facility. o Dispose of removed materials in accordance with EPA regulations and local waste management guidelines. o Conduct sewer camera inspections in two designated areas of the facility. o Isolate and shut down sections of the existing DWV system as needed to facilitate the work while minimizing disruption to facility operations. o Install new DWV piping using PVC materials, consistent with current system design, unless not code compliant. o Ensure all piping is supported using code-compliant brackets and includes appropriate insulation per industry standards. o Verify proper slope and venting to ensure functional and code-compliant drainage. o Ensure the new plumbing system is installed in full compliance with applicable local codes, ADA requirements, and all relevant health and safety regulations. o Schedule and coordinate inspections with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). o Perform air or water pressure testing on all newly installed piping per applicable plumbing code requirements. o Submit all test results to the McLean County Project Manager for review. o Work closely with facility staff to coordinate access and scheduling in order to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations. o Maintain secure work practices appropriate for a detention environment, including restricted access control at all times. o Maintain effective barriers between work zones and occupied areas to ensure safety and containment. o Perform daily cleanup and securely store all tools and materials after each shift. o Complete final cleaning of all affected areas upon project completion. o Conduct a final walkthrough with the McLean County Project Manager to review and confirm project completion.
