1.2.1. The buses shall also be required to have the following specifications. 1.2.1.1 Driver seat to be air ride seat, with twin arms. 1.2.1.2 Must have a minimum of 28” driver seat knee space. 1.2.1.3 Separate drivers dome light switch. 1.2.1.4 Must have a sun visor. 1.2.1.5 Tilt/telescoping steering wheel. 1.2.1.6 Cup holder for the driver. 1.2.1.7 Radio and speakers thru bus with controls. 1.2.1.8 Two electric fans for front windows. 1.2.1.9 Remote control side mirrors heated. 1.2.1.10 Overhead storage in drivers’ compartment. 1.2.1.11 Must have at minimum 2 air conditioning units 1.2.1.12 Must have at minimum 2 heating units. 1.2.1.13 Engine block heater. 1.2.1.14 Diesel Engine shall be certified by the manufacturer to run on 5% biodiesel (B5) fuel 1.2.1.15 5 or 6 speed automatic Allison 2500 Series with synthetic fluid or equivalent. 1.2.1.16 Water pump for heaters. 1.2.1.17 Heated fuel and water separator. 1.2.1.18 Auxiliary coolant heater. 1.2.1.19 Roll out battery tray. 1.2.1.20 One (1) bus, 66 passenger, shall be equipped with a wheelchair lift and be modified to accommodate one (1) wheelchair. 1.2.1.21 Air suspension. 1.2.1.22 Buses to be safety belt ready with belts supplied but not installed. 1.2.1.23 Storage under side of bus; water and weatherproof with security/locking feature. 1.2.1.24 Heavy duty defroster for the front window. 1.2.1.25 Power steering and air disc brakes. 1.2.1.26 Light check system. 1.2.1.27 minimum of 100-gallon fuel tank. 1.2.1.28 Mud flap front and rear. 1.2.1.29 Vandal locks on all doors. 1.2.1.30 Tinted window passengers. 1.2.1.31 Crossing arm, heavy duty with wind deflectors, installed. 1.2.1.32 No child left behind system. 1.2.1.33 Exterior of buses painted in standard yellow. 1.2.1.34 White roof. 1.2.1.35 Buses are to be numbered on the front and rear with number three (3) on bus with handicap lift and number four (4) on the second bus. 1.2.1.36 Emergency roof hatch. 1.2.1.37 Strobe light. 1.2.1.38 Tow hooks front and rear. 1.2.1.39 Three (3) camera systems installed in each bus with one (1) camera in front facing back and one (1) in the back-facing front, and one (1) in the middle facing back. Must include docking station and software, hook-up signals and speed in both buses. 1.2.2. The Vendor shall provide an extended warranty to cover both buses the entire contract term as follows: 1.2.2.1 Warranty will cover towing for 6 months, if breakdown is not the fault of the school; 1.2.2.2 The vendor shall cover expenses on repeat problems or breakdowns for items under warranty;1.2.2.3 The vendor shall provide replacement buses equivalent to leased buses. 1.2.2.3. If repairs to bus(es) cannot be completed due to repeat problems, the decision to provide a replacement bus will be at the dealer’s discretion. The replacement bus will be similar capacity with similar specifications but the model year, options, and bus model may differ. 1.2.2.4. When bus(es) are out for repairs, a written status report shall be sent to the Chief Engineer weekly from the vendor; 1.2.2.5. Replacement bus(es), if needed, will be defect free and current on safety requirements with State approved tires. Substitute buses are at the dealer’s discretion and may vary from the ordered buses with required specifications as the vendor will be limited to what is available in their inventory.
