This work shall consist of crack sealing on various City of Woodstock roads and parking lots. Crack Sealing Specifications and Standards: 1. Equipment used for heating and placing the premixed material shall be capable of heating the material to 400° F and pumping the material into the prepared cracks. 2. All temperature gauges shall be calibrated and checked for accuracy. 3. Crack sealing material shall be a rubberized material that conforms to section 451 and section 1050.02 of the IDOT standard specifications, current edition. Prior to beginning work, the contractor shall submit to the City of Woodstock’s representative a manufacturer’s certificate stating that the crack sealing material complies with the above requirements. 4. If requested by the City of Woodstock, the Contractor must allow a City representative to inspect the Contractor’s crack sealant materials before they are melted and applied. 5. Crack routers/cutters shall be mechanical and power driven, capable of cutting the cracks to the required dimensions. Equipment designed to “plow” the cracks will not be permitted.
