The project consists of approximately 1,970 linear feet of 10-foot wide multi-use trails constructed with hot-mix asphalt surface pavement. The project will also include an 80 linear foot prefabricated pedestrian bridge, approximately 300 linear feet of boardwalk, and 20 linear feet of concrete approach pavements. Two at-grade roadway crossings are proposed. The project also includes installation of storm sewers, signage, bollards, and fences, topsoil stripping and placement, seeding, erosion control blanket installation, and all the incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and as described herein. The project local agency and Owner is the Sycamore Park District. Several portions of the property owned by Sycamore Park District were recently acquired from private owners. The Sycamore Park District has also obtained temporary construction easements from private owners for installation of the trail, which are shown on the plans. The access and work in the easement portions of the project area shall be limited to the easement areas only. A majority of the project is located within the 100-year floodplain and regulatory floodway of the Kishwaukee River.
