1) Material a) Frame i) Square Mild Steel Tubing, all welded connections ii) Spindle shaft – sufficient strength to handle reel weight without bending, but no smaller than 2.5” diameter. iii) Shaft safety locks to secure reel to reel stand during transport, movement and storage (1) Spindle shaft locks will capture shaft 360 degrees and be secured with a solid pin iv) Forklift pockets to facilitate moving stand with fully loaded reel v) Lifting rings on all four corners of sufficient capacity that the stand can be lifted with fully loaded reel. vi) Painted ANSI Grey polyurethane paint vii)Stand will be of sufficient dimension to be stable with reel resting on sloped ground 2) Size a) Reel stands will be sized to store up to a single 72” reel of 1000 MCM CU or AL jacketed cable of approximately 2500 lbs.
