Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Land Application, Cu. Yds 2800, May 1, 2024 – April 30, 2025 ; 2. Land Application Cu. Yds 2800; These specifications cover the disposal of mechanically dewatered biosolids produced in the treatment of domestic wastewater. The biosolids are primary and waste activated sludge that has been co-digested in anaerobic digesters prior to dewatering. a. Disposal can be scheduled in the spring, summer, and fall as agronomic land becomes available. b. The Contractor must remove a minimum of 1,500 cubic yards of biosolids before winter soil conditions exist, or November 15, whichever comes first. Note: Special IEPA conditions may apply after November 15th. c. Biosolids Loading – The Contractor shall furnish the necessary equipment and operators to load stockpile biosolids in the contractor’s equipment. d. Biosolids Disposal- The Contractor shall provide a land application site and land apply the biosolids in accordance with applicable regulations of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and City of Geneva NPDES Permit. Dewatered biosolids are stored in covered storage building; Prior to application of Biosolids to any land, the Contractor shall submit, to the City of Geneva for review, a Biosolids Site Evaluation which includes. 1. Site Survey: USGS quarter quandragle map. Site Topographical map. 2. Soil testing results: pH Phosphorus; CEC meg-100g; Potassium; Organic Matter 3. Agronomist Field Report 4. 5 Year Site History; The Contractor shall be responsible when tracking mud or biosolids onto City of Geneva roads, State Routes, or County roads. This is strongly not advised and if any tracking should occur, the contractor shall immediately remove the mud and clean the streets. This work will not be paid separately but shall be considered incidental to the contract.
