Specifications include, but are not limited to:Trips The CPD regularly requires bus transportation services for the transportation of participants and staff in CPD district wide programs and Special Recreation programs. Special Recreation programs shall include ADA bus services for the annual Special Olympics Chicago event. Buses are needed primarily during the summer to transport small and large groups of passengers. The small groups may be up to 20 passengers, and the large groups may exceed 60. It is possible that buses will also be needed at other times during the year to transport participants and staff in other CPD programs. The services will be requested on an as-needed basis by any park district wide or department. These trips may be during the day, evening, weekends, or on holidays. Some out of state or long distance trips may be required. There will be three types of trips: 1. Day: A trip with duration of six (6) hours or less which begins and ends between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. 2. Evening/Weekend/Holiday: A trip with duration of six (6) hours or less beginning after 5:00 p.m., or which occurs on a holiday or during the weekend. Spring break and Christmas break are not considered holidays by the CPD. 3. Additional Pick-ups: The awardee shall provide additional pick-ups for the CPD if they are within a three (3) mile radius of the original pick-up and drop-off. It is understood that additional pick-ups may be made as part of a trip. There shall be a minimum of two (2) additional pick-ups allowed for each scheduled trip within the three (3) mile radius at no additional charge to the CPD. Bus Rates Day rate: A trip with duration of six (6) hours or less which begins and ends between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. In addition, the day rate will always apply if the majority of the trip happens during the daytime hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (e.g. pickup at 2:00 p.m. and drop off at 6:00 p.m. = day rate). Trip duration is identified as travel time (wheels in motion).
