Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Abatement Contractor must comply will all applicable state, local and federal asbestos and lead paint abatement and waste disposal regulations, including, but not limited to those set forth by OSHA, EPA, IDPH, IEPA, IDOT and NESHAPS. 2. All materials must be disposed of in an EPA approved landfill. Commingling of waste from other work sites is not permitted. 3. The Abatement Contractor shall be given 48 hours prior notice by Metra to begin abatement activities on a passenger gallery car or locomotive. 4. The Abatement Contractor will work during normal shop hours. The Abatement Contractor may be required to work second shift and weekends as directed by Metra. 5. The Abatement Contractor must be registered with the Illinois Department of Public Health as a licensed abatement contractor. 6. All workers must have current asbestos worker license and training certification. 7. The Abatement Contractor is not permitted to use the shop areas and facilities outside of the designated abatement work area. The Abatement Contractor will not use any of Metra’s tools or equipment. 8. Metra is not responsible for security of Abatement Contractor’s equipment/tools in use or stored on Metra’s property. The Abatement Contractor is responsible to secure and/or lock doors, gates and security devices in accordance with Metra’s procedures and instructions before leaving the work location. 9. All Abatement Contractor employees must sign in when entering Metra property and sign out when leaving Metra property.
