Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project generally includes the crack sealing, seal coating, and re-striping of the asphalt roadways, parking lots, and trail systems. I. Crack Seal A. Materials Joints and cracks are to be sealed using hot-pour rubberized crack filler which meets ASTM-D 5078 standards and shall be leveled to a smooth surface to form a maximum ¾-inch over band on the asphalt surface. This is an important step to eliminate fill being torn out by snowplows and other maintenance equipment, and to maintain a smooth, safe surface on trails. B. Surface Preparation Prior to filling, all joints, and cracks ⅛-inch wide or greater are to be uniformly routed, cleaned (free of dirt, vegetation, and water), and dried. II. Seal Coating A. Materials Contractor shall be required to use a latex fortified water-based asphalt emulsion sealcoat, product grade SS1h or Css1h, conforming to the requirements in Section 94 of the California Standard Specification, “Asphaltic Emulsions,” Table 1 or 2, with the exception of the penetration on residue from distillation which will conform to a value of 20 to 60. No coal-tar products shall be permitted. B. General Requirements Contractor shall be required to provide the District with the name and manufacturer of the sealcoat product to be used, in addition to all material data sheets and material safety data sheets, as well as application specifications, prior to receiving notice to proceed. The contractor shall be required to follow the all-manufacturer specifications for application as not otherwise specified in these Technical Specifications. The contractor may encounter bridges in preserves and along trail systems. Bridges are marked with a 10,000 lb. or five (5) ton load limit. The contractor shall not exceed the load limit for any bridge and shall access the project area from the other side when necessary
