Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is requesting quotes for the purchase of 200 AR-15 rifle security systems to outfit its fleet of Ford F-150’s. The system shall protect and secure the rifle while providing the Officer immediate access to it. The system shall fit all military spec. AR-15 rifles of .223 and .556 calibers (Installation will be completed by IDNR staff). The system shall be made of steel and incorporate a protective layer of foam where the rifle contacts the system to prevent damage. The system shall prevent manipulation of the rifles trigger, safety selection, magazine release, and assembly pins. The system shall include a minimum 5ft steel cable in a protective covering and a hardened steel keyed lock. The lock shall come with a minimum or two (2) keys. The dimensions of the locking system that covers the AR-15’s lower assembly shall be 8.5” x 3.5”.
