The Respondent shall conduct all the work necessary to update the Village’s existing ADA Transition Plan for facilities and the public right-of-way. The update shall identify current barriers to accessibility, prioritize actions to address these barriers, and set forth a schedule for those actions. The update shall meet all requirements under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), the latest edition of the Illinois Accessibility Code (IAC), the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, the 2011 Proposed Accessibility Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way (PROWAG), and all other applicable federal and state standards. The update shall focus on all facilities, sidewalks, curb ramps, and traffic signals that are owned, maintained, and operated by the Village of Wilmette. Facilities and other infrastructure in the public right-of-way that are owned, maintained, and/or operated by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Cook County, Wilmette Park District, Wilmette Public Library, and other public entities are outside the scope of work for the plan and this update.
