Specifications include, but are not limited to: Youth/Senior Services are programs, activities, and services aimed at providing a range of opportunities for young persons/seniors. These services/programs cover such areas as creative arts, education, health, leadership development, nutrition, recreation, social and other support services. The current thrust of youth services is an emphasis on positive youth development. Best practices in youth services include the provision of safety, appropriate supervision, supportive relationships, opportunities to belong, positive social norms, support for efficacy and skill building, and integration of community, school, and family efforts. Youth services also provide opportunities for youth development, youth voice, and reflection. The thrust for senior programs is to support older adults in congregating for fellowship with others to fulfill social, physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
