1) Prepare and clean all surfaces to receive materials. Surface preparation shall include: Removal of all surface contamination by washing with an appropriate cleaner, rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Surface preparation shall include if needed any existing peeled or checked paint should be scraped and sanded to a sound surface. Glossy surfaces should be sanded dull. stains from water, smoke, ink, pencil, grease, etc. should be sealed with the appropriate primer-sealer, per manufacturer’s instructions. 2) Apply one prime coat to surfaces prior to the finish coat in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations if needed. 3) Apply two complete finish coats of Sherwin Williams LOXON self-cleaning acrylic coatingSatin and one coat of Sherwin Williams LOXON NS2 2 component smooth polyurethane sealant or equivalent approved finishes by the Public Works Director. Finished surfaces shall be uniformly coated and free of runs, drips, sags, brush marks, or other defects. Such defects shall be corrected without change in Contract Price. 4) All paint shall be applied in strict accordance with the applicable manufacturer’s printed instruction data sheet and container label outlining recommended minimum and maximum surface and air temperatures required for application. 5) Protect adjacent surroundings against splash or overspray. Remove materials from surfaces not designated to receive such materials.
