Specifications include, but are not limited to: ICE ABRASIVES: The Aggregate shall be comparable to C.A. 15 and C.A. 16 as specified in the Standard Specifications. Percent passing the #16 sieve shall not exceed 4%, and percent passing the #200 sieve shall not exceed 2.5%. Results from sieve analyses performed on samples from the stockpiles to be hauled from shall be provided to the Ogle County Highway Department one (1) week prior to the start of material delivery. Additional sieve analysis results shall be provided for every 1000 tons of material delivered. Quality assurance samples may also be taken by the Highway Department to confirm results. Final approval of gradation shall be by the County Engineer. The County anticipates using approximately 2,500 tons of ice abrasives during the 2022-2023 winter season. Vendors are hereby notified that the County reserves the right to order only such quantities of material as may be required during the season. Material shall be available for delivery to the County Yard by November 14, 2022. All materials shall be delivered as requested by the County Engineer. Each delivery shall be not less than 500 tons.
