Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Parking Lot Defined: The parking lot is the paved surface of City-owned lots. The paved surface is usually concrete but can also be asphalt. 2. Snow Removal: Snow shall be removed from the identified parking lots across the full width and length of the parking lot. 3. Removal Procedures: Removal shall be accomplished by plowing, pushing, or blowing snow from the surface of the parking lot to City-owned space adjacent to the parking lot. Removal of snow can be accomplished by using equipment-mounted plows, shovels, snow blowers, or other mechanical devices capable of removing snow and exposing the surface of the parking lot. 4. Placement of Snow: Snow removed from parking lot shall be placed as marked in blue on the attached maps (attachments labeled B-F). Snow may not be placed on City streets or alleys. 5. Deicer/Salt Applications: The Contractor will be required to supply and apply salt or deicing materials to the parking lots in an amount sufficient to eliminate icing conditions resulting in hazardous pedestrian travel even if snow accumulations do not exceed 2 inches. Salt/deicing material application will be required if snow/ice/precipitation has accumulated on the surface and causes slippery conditions to exist. Salt/deicing will not be required if the snow is completely removed from the surface and the surface is left dry and free from snow/ice/or other precipitation.
