Specifications include, but are not limited to: Property crime has been especially challenging for small business owners. To help address rising crime and increase public safety, the 19th Ward will partner with local business associations to fund a private, unarmed security presence along major commercial strips. ; a) Eligible activities under this program include the hiring of private, unarmed security guards to patrol the SSA Services areas within the 19th Ward. Private security and associated insurance costs are the only eligible expense of these funds. b) Scope of Services - Grant funding will be provided to these organizations to retain a private security company to patrol their service areas. Leaders of these associations will work with the CPD to ensure that any work done by a provider compliments existing efforts and strategies in place by the CPD (22nd District). The 19th Ward intends to have three equal grants awarded to these associations by April 1, 2022 with security services beginning in May 2022 and continuing throughout 2022.
