Recommend going the attic and looking from there as well. Once the shingles have been removed and its down to bare sheathing examine wood for root along overhangs. Replace if needed. Remove old chimney and install flashing boot and storm collar around existing metal flue. Remove all the caulk and tar along siding to allow new step flashing and flat flashing along with the new roof installation. Install Ice & Snow guard in valleys and lower edges. Install approved water barrier throughout the remaining roof. Install 2” style D roof edge in white. New roof boots throughout. Install 30-yr architectural shingles of the Homeowners choice with preselected colors. Ridge vent shingle over style is preferred. Follow manufactures installation instructions making sure to get proper cut back on the ridgeline. Permit required before the start of work.
